Lead Network Engineer
The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for the development, management and ongoing maintenance of Network systems and appliances across the enterprise. Deep technical knowledge is required with respect to a number of core networking devices including Cisco Nexus switches and access points, Palo Alto Firewalls, Riverbeds, Mitel PBX, and Citrix Netscaler.
Technical Skills Required…
- Extensive experience of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, Token ring, OSPF, LACP, Trunking, VLANs, TCP/IP.
- Extensive experience of (SDN, SD-WAN) software-defined and cloud-based networking.
- Experience working in a switched and routed environment (Cisco Nexus).
- Experience troubleshooting complex Hardware, software, and networks.
- Experience with current network hardware, including HP, Riverbed, Cisco, Brocade, and Aruba.
- Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools, including Solarwinds Network Configuration Manager.
Key duties…
- Technical Lead and coach for the networking team.
- Influence the broader strategy for the department which will involve cross-functional collaboration
- Documentation: Develops and maintains technical documentation, policies, and procedures; including low level designs as required
- Work closely with the "Lead Infrastructure Engineer" to deliver global system stability and availability
- Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components, assuring adherence to industry standards.
- Establish connectivity and uptime service level agreements.
- Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of company networks.
- Responsible for the development, management, and ongoing maintenance of Network systems and appliances across the enterprise.
- Planning, developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, associated software, and communication links.
Salary: £70-75,000
Location: 3 days remote working, 2 days in the London HQ
