Network Engineer


Are you an experienced Network Engineer looking to work with enterprise-scale technologies in a global professional services environment?


Our client a global organisation based in London near Liverpool Street station (Hybrid working - with 4 days a week in the office) is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join its Technology Infrastructure team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance and support a global enterprise network, working with modern technologies across data centres, cloud environments and international offices.


The Role


You'll be responsible for maintaining, improving and supporting the organisation's enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security and performance. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll troubleshoot complex issues, deliver infrastructure upgrades and lead network projects from design through to implementation.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead networking projects and collaborate with wider technology teams.

  • Deliver network upgrades, maintenance and hardware refreshes.

  • Support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN and data centre networks.

  • Monitor network performance and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Support VPN and remote access technologies.

  • Conduct wireless surveys and implement improvements.

  • Produce technical documentation and participate in change management.


Essential skills required:



  • Proven background working on the delivery of enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN and datacentre networks

  • Strong experience with Cisco-level routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, EtherChannel)

  • Network security (firewalls - Palo Alto, Cisco ASA or equivalent - VPNs, segmentation)

  • Experience working on enterprise Wi-Fi design and troubleshooting, including 802.1X/RADIUS

  • Previous experience working in professional services or multi-country enterprise organisations.

  • Able to work in the office in the City of London 4 days a week


Desirable experience:



  • SD-WAN

  • Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass

  • Azure, AWS or GCP networking

  • Cisco Nexus, VXLAN or EVPN

  • Python, Ansible or Terraform
