Network Engineer – 6 Months
About you…
This Network Engineer is very much a hands-on role, and deep technical knowledge is required with respect to a number of core networking devices including Cisco Nexus switches and access points, Palo Alto Firewalls, Riverbeds, Mitel PBX, and Citrix Netscaler.
You will have to function efficiently and autonomously to achieve key strategic goals for the team, and effectively manage time across parallel work streams;
Technical Skills Required…- Extensive experience of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, Token ring, OSPF, LACP, Trunking, VLANs, TCP/IP.
- Extensive experience of (SDN, SD-WAN) software-defined and cloud-based networking.
- Experience working in a switched and routed environment (Cisco Nexus).
- Experience troubleshooting complex Hardware, software, and networks.
- Experience with current network hardware, including HP, Riverbed, Cisco, Brocade, and Aruba.
- Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools, including Solarwinds Network Configuration Manager.
Key duties…
- Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components, assuring adherence to industry standards.
- Establish connectivity and uptime service level agreements.
- Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of company networks.
- Responsible for the development, management, and ongoing maintenance of Network systems and appliances across the enterprise.
- Planning, developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, associated software, and communication links.
Rate: £500-600 Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months
Location: 3 days remote working, 2 days in the London HQ
