IT Hardware & Deskside Support Analyst
London | £35,000 to £40,000 | Permanent | 5 Days On-Site
Are you an IT Support Analyst who enjoys getting out from behind the Service Desk and working directly with people?
We're recruiting for a newly created IT Hardware & Deskside Support Analyst position within a well-established, professional services organisation in Central London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 2 to 3 years' IT support experience who enjoys hands-on technical work, building relationships with colleagues and taking ownership of IT hardware and devices.
Unlike a traditional Service Desk position, this role is predominantly focused on hardware, device management and face-to-face user support, with some additional Service Desk responsibilities.
What's on offer?
- Salary of £35,000 to £40,000
- Monday to Friday, 5 days office-based
- Newly created role with genuine ownership and responsibility
- Opportunity to develop your technical and stakeholder-facing skills
- Supportive, collaborative IT environment
- Comprehensive benefits package and career development opportunities
What will you be doing?
- Taking ownership of the full IT hardware lifecycle, including procurement, configuration, deployment, maintenance and disposal.
- Providing hands-on, deskside IT support to colleagues across the business.
- Managing laptops, desktops, mobile devices, monitors and other IT equipment.
- Working closely with external suppliers, resellers and warranty providers.
- Maintaining accurate IT asset records and device inventories.
- Configuring, troubleshooting and supporting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Supporting device imaging, deployment and mobile device management.
- Assisting the wider Service Desk team with technical incidents and requests when required.
What are we looking for?
- Around 2 to 3 years' experience in an IT Support, Desktop Support or Service Desk position.
- Strong hands-on hardware troubleshooting and device management experience.
- Good working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
- Experience working with third-party IT suppliers or hardware vendors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence supporting users face-to-face.
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to take ownership of technical issues.
- A genuine interest in delivering excellent customer service.
Experience with Intune, Windows Autopilot, Active Directory, Entra ID or IT asset management tools would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
We're open to candidates from any industry. What matters most is your technical foundation, positive attitude and ability to build relationships with people across the business.
