Are you a SQL Server specialist who enjoys solving complex performance issues and building robust, secure database environments?
We are supporting a leading professional services organisation as they hire an SQL DBA to join their growing team. This role focuses on keeping business-critical systems reliable, secure and high performing while supporting colleagues across the wider firm.

What you will be doing
- Ensuring the reliability, security and efficiency of key databases and applications
- Designing and implementing database solutions and integrations
- Developing database-level interfaces, data extracts and bespoke solutions
- Contributing to backup and disaster recovery strategy
- Troubleshooting performance issues using tools such as Query Store and Extended Events
- Managing incidents, requests and third-line support escalations
- Working closely with external suppliers and application vendors
- Supporting data analytics and reporting teams with ETL and transformation work
- Testing application upgrades and documenting processes for wider teams
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (On-Prem), Azure SQL VM, Azure Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database
- Deep understanding of performance tuning, scaling, security and cost optimisation
- Experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, functions and custom integrations
- Hands-on experience with backups, integrity checks and index maintenance
- Familiarity with blocking, caching and wait statistics
- Experience with Extended Events and Query Store
- Bonus: exposure to Power BI datasets, Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric
- Clear communicator and problem solver with a calm, collaborative approach
