Description

Legal Applications Engineer

Ready to be the tech-savvy bridge between lawyers and game-changing legal AI?

The essentials

  • Role: Legal Applications Engineer (permanent)

  • Sector: Mid-tier law firm

  • Location: Central London hub, with hybrid working – just 3 days in any of the firm’s offices

  • Package: £65,000 – £75,000 plus comprehensive benefits

  • Reporting line: Direct access to senior IT leadership while partnering daily with fee-earners and business services teams

Why you’ll love it here

  • Shape the roadmap – you’ll own and evolve a modern legal tech and GenAI stack, not just keep the lights on

  • High visibility – work shoulder-to-shoulder with partners on matters that make headlines, not help-desk tickets

  • Cutting-edge exposure – M365 Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise and other emerging AI tools are already part of the toolkit

  • Flex for life – true hybrid culture, inclusive policies and a people-first approach in an environment small enough for your voice to be heard

  • Career lift-off – a £multi-million tech budget, certifications encouraged and a clear path to senior engineering or architecture

What you’ll be driving & the tech you’ll touch

  • Take full technical ownership of core legal apps (iManage Cloud, Intapp Walls & Conflicts, Litera, BigHand, SharePoint, M365) and the growing GenAI suite

  • Keep everything patched, secure and humming, acting as 2nd/3rd-line guru for complex issues

  • Design and deliver new solutions (e.g. voice-to-text, e-discovery, GenAI pilots) from proof-of-concept to roll-out

  • Partner with lawyers to spot automation wins and embed AI into everyday workflows

  • Produce clear docs, dashboards and bite-sized training that demystify tech for busy fee-earners

  • Liaise with vendors on roadmaps, renewals and budgets, making sure value and compliance stay front and centre

The people skills we value

  • Stakeholder: you translate partner priorities into road-tested solutions

  • Inclusive collaborator: you welcome diverse perspectives and create an environment where everyone can thrive

  • Problem-solver: tenacious, calm under pressure and never afraid to ask “why not?”

  • Clear communicator: whether it’s a board-level deck or a five-minute floor-walk, you make tech accessible

  • Continuous learner: passionate about legal innovation, AI ethics and best-practice service delivery

We are committed to equal opportunity and encourage applications from every background, identity and lived experience. If you’re keen to propel legal services into the AI era, let’s talk.
