Lead Devops Engineer

A global Law Firm are looking for an experienced hands-on Team Leader to lead the Platform Engineering Team within the IT Global Engineering Department.
The role will be predominantly responsible for the delivery of the firm's strategic hybrid cloud technical platform. As well as some technical delivery. You will manage a small team of contract and permanent cloud engineers, cloud developers and Power Platform developers.
You will be responsible for building out a number of Microsoft Azure, Power Platform and third-party integrations software solutions.
The role is currently full remote whilst the office re-furb takes place. By the end of the year, it will go to 2 days per week in the office.
JOB DUTIES
- Be seen as the technical lead within the Platform Engineering Team. Work with the Architects, Scrum Masters and other Digital Delivery Team members to prioritise the delivery of a number of identified technical solutions.
- Work alongside the Solutions Architects and Data Architect to deliver against the Data architecture and strategy for the firm to begin to adopt.
- Ensure that all strategy, architecture, standards, patterns, principles and roadmaps are kept current and fully understood by all relevant teams within the firm.
- Create and maintain design documentation leveraging the firm's existing technical documentation templates.
- Ensure the compliance of code management, testing and deployment tooling.
- Work with relevant IT suppliers, vendors and specialty third parties to ensure technologies are deployed in line with security and operational best practice in mind.
- Advise the in-house delivery teams to ensure their knowledge is transferred on new systems and technology. Ensure everything is configured for reliable operation to meet the business objectives and processes.
Knowledge and/or EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience of deploying cloud solutions as Infrastructure as Code using PowerShell, ARM and Bicep templates.
- Proven experience of deploying Integrations technology such as RabbitMQ, nServiceBus, Azure API Management and Azure Service Bus.
- Experience in deploying Azure Web Apps, Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
- Delivery and design experience of data services such as Dataverse, Azure Synapse, Data Gateway, Data Warehouse and integration with Azure ML and Cognitive Services.
- Experience in deploying and leveraging both SQL, Graph and Document Database technology such as MongoDB and Neo4J.
- Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Apps, BI, Automate, Virtual Agents) and integrating on-premise data with the Power Platform leveraging Data Connectors.
